EARLY RELEASE OF STUDENT… What is the procedure for the release of students for a doctor appointment, etc?) And where is the designated area for parking/pick-up during school hours?
The student should bring a note to give the teacher a “heads up”. The parent must come into the office, ask for the students to be called to leave. There is a “Sign Out book” that must be filled in before the child is dismissed.
PICK-UP/DROP-OFF OF STUDENTS…What are the procedures/guidelines, for car riders in the parking lot area?
Morning – pull into the lot and drive parallel to the cones and leave child (children) out of car. There should be enough cars to fill a line parallel to the cones and building. If you need to get out of your car and walk your child to their line, you must park your car facing Third Avenue and walk your child (children) using the designated walkway to their class lines. No cars may park past the school building facing Third Avenue because the busses need to be able to get into the school yard.
Afternoon – When you pull into the school parking lot, form lines parallel to the school building. There are approximately 8 lines of cars. It is important to pull up as close as possible to the car in front of you. According to state guidelines, you should turn your car off. The students are dismissed at the back door of the school. They should then go to your car. There are teachers to direct the lines out of the parking lot. If you arrive after the children are dismissed at the back door, you should pull in a spot by Third Avenue. When the car lines are directed to move, you may pull up and begin forming a line again parallel to the school.
CELL PHONES…Are cell phones permitted? If so, what are the guidelines? What about other electronic equipment?
Cell phones are permitted for security purposes only. Cell phones must be turned off at all times during school hours. Beepers, iPods, MP3 players, games and any other electronic equipment are not permitted in school. Additionally, iWatches and similar internet connected devices are also prohibited.
