HOMEWORK – Week of: Monday 1/11 – Friday 1/15
*Monday – Chapter 4 Math test tomorrow – Study to prepare. I will send home their math workbook to review pages from chapter 4. This will help students study for their test tomorrow.
*Tuesday – “All About Me” paper – students will have to write their first and last name, their address, and phone number that they would call incase of an emergency.
*Wednesday – Reading test tomorrow, Unit 2 – no written HW. Study for reading test tomorrow – materials that students should study, review, and know, include:
- Sight words (scroll down and you will see the full list of them. I will also send home their sight words case to review the words and sentences for extra practice.)
- Beginning and ending sounds of words, for example: sat, Sam, can, we, he, etc. – students should know what letter each word begins and ends with, depending on the word I say aloud.
- Reading comprehension – I will read a story, and students will have to answer questions about the story.
- Five senses – seeing, hearing, touching, smelling, tasting
- Blending letter sounds together to make words
*Thursday – Candy Lane numeral math worksheet – will be sent home in take-home folder
*Friday – NO HOMEWORK! 🙂 Have a great weekend!
PLEASE label your child’s gym sweatshirts and uniform sweaters. There has been several occasions where children are getting theirs mixed up with other children. Thanks so much!
Parents – If you didn’t already, please make sure your child is sent in with a large zip-lock bag with their name on it filled with toys. Due to COVID-19, we are not allowed to share toys. On days where it’s too cold outside or raining/snowing, the children have indoor recess at their seats and play with their toys. It can be any toy of your child’s choice, as long as it fits in the baggie! Thank you 🙂
**** Please make sure your child is utilizing First In Math. They should spend at least 10-15 minutes on it 2-3 times per week. This will benefit them and help them practice their math skills! ****
Parents: Any homework that is sent home in your child’s take-home folder that was already checked by me, please do not throw away. It is important you keep these worksheets to help your child study when they have tests or quizzes. I don’t give them often, but when I do, using their homework worksheets are very useful. Thank you! 🙂
** There is no longer nap/rest time. On Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12:15-1:00, students will have iPad time. Some apps on the iPads include First In Math, Freckle, educational games, handwriting tracing and more fun things that the children love! If you haven’t already, please send in headphones for your child to use.
Retakes for pictures: January 18, 2021: – 8-11 AM
** A friendly reminder to please send hand towels in for your child to use as a placemat during snack and lunchtime.
*** Sight Words List – I will add more as the students learn more each week:
HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!
