May the Lord give you His Peace!
The season of Advent is upon us as we embark on a new liturgical year! Advent is a time set aside for us to prepare for the coming celebration of Christmas, the great mystery of Son of God born among us. The hours of daylight diminish and we wait in darkness for the coming of Christ our Light. While we long for the light and the warmth that is to come, we wait in joyful hope and expectation.
Let us, as families and as a school community, take this opportunity to renew our commitment to Christ, to be more aware of who we are as Catholic Christians and how we reflect Him in our everyday living and less on what we have or what we lack.
In this way we will be better prepared to approach the manger with glad hearts and joyful souls singing hymns of praise to worship the Son of God made man and to share our love and joy with our family and friends!
May we feel the support of one another’s prayers during this hectic time of year preparing our hearts, our homes and our school for the great solemnity of Christmas!
May the Infant Jesus, the treasure of our souls, fill you with wonder and awe like the Shepherds and Magi experienced at the first Christmas!
Peace and all good,
Sr. Michele de Gregorio, fmij
