Welcome to the School Counselorís Page! My name is Rachel Sole and I will be your childís School Counselor for the 2015 - 2016 school year. I am delighted to be returning to Saint Margaret Regional School and am looking forward to working with your child in the upcoming school year. Throughout the year I will be updating this page with what is happening in regards to classroom counseling or general announcements, so please check back periodically! I graduated from Rowan University in 2012 with my Masters in Counseling in Educational Settings (K-12) and in 2010 with my B. A. in Psychology and a Minor in Sociology. In 2014, I became accredited as a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I spent my Undergraduate internship working with a School Psychologist in a Pre-K through 6 setting with the Gateway Regional Child Study Team, and my Graduate practicum and internship as a 7th and 8th grade counselor at Gateway Regional High School. Iíve also spent the past 9 years working in the school setting in various capacities from an Administrative Assistant to a Substitute Teacher. I like to take a proactive approach with my counseling through student observations, collaboration with the childís teacher and the School Principal and Vice Principal, as well as going into the classroom to present lessons on various life skill topics from good manners to promoting student self-esteem, based on student needs. I will be providing individual counseling to students for any academic, social, or career-oriented needs, and will make any referrals for outside services if necessary; in addition, I will be running groups based on the needs of the school throughout the year. I am trained in the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program which has already been implemented at Saint Margaret, and am ready to continue facilitating the program as the schoolís Anti-Bullying Specialist. My door will always be open for your child to come and talk to me about any issue he or she is having throughout the year. If you wish for me to see your child on a regular basis for counseling, please pick up a Parent Consent form from the Main Office.
Should you as a parent have any questions or concerns throughout the year, I will be more than happy to speak with you, as it is my goal as the School Counselor to assist your child in their development and make sure their time at St. Margaret Regional School is a positive experience. Please feel free to call me during the school day at 856-845-5200 or e-mail me any time at firstname.lastname@example.org.
