May the Lord Grant Us His Peace!

Dear Parents,

In Mark 10:17-19, a young man asks Jesus, “Good teacher, what must I do to share in everlasting life?”  Jesus responds with, “Why do you call me good?  No one is good but God alone.”  Then Jesus continues, “You know the commandments….”

This is a perfect challenge for each of us.  I have heard many people say, I am a good person; I pray at home; I don’t hurt anyone.  Why do I need to go to church on Sunday?  Yet as good as each person is, we have to remember Jesus’ words, “you know the commandments.”

And if you follow all the Commandments as the young man said he did, remember that Jesus looked on the young man with love (Mk 10:20).

May God look on you and your families with love this summer as you make your effort not only to be good, but attend Mass regularly.
