1st ANNUAL AUCTION… Frequently Asked Questions
What is the “1st Annual Auction” that I keep hearing about?
This auction will be held at Adelphia Restaurant on Saturday March 24th, 2012 in the evening. The cost is $50/person which includes a sit-down dinner, dessert, soft drinks, coffee/tea as well as 2 complimentary bottles of wine to enjoy during the evening, a drink ticket, and an evening of fun!
What will take place at the auction?
The event will start at 6:00 pm; each guest will register and receive a bidding number. The Silent Auction room will be divided into 3 sections. Guests are encouraged to walk around and check out the variety of silent auction items that will be up for bid. There will be bid sheets in front of each item where you can choose to bid or if it’s something you really want you fill in the maximum bid and you are guaranteed to win! The 3 sections will close 15-20 minutes apart. As each section is closed, a committee will take the bidding sheets and enter them into the computer matching bidding numbers with names. This is a lot of fun as you begin to compete with others for exciting items!
Can I request to be seated with my friends during the auction?
Absolutely! We want you to have an enjoyable night out. When you receive your invitation, there will be response cards that will be sent back with your payment. The response card has a space provided for you to list specific people you would like to be seated with.
What happens during the rest of the evening?
After the Silent Auction, the guests will be asked to be seated in the main dining room. Dinner will be served as the Live Auction take place. We have a team of two professional auctioneers that will run the Live Auction. There will be an MC that will briefly explain each Live Auction item before it goes up for bid. There will be 30-40 live auction items including classroom projects that will be up for display at the auction.
If I am the highest bidder, when and how will I get my prize?
While the Live Auction is taking place, there will be several committees of volunteers that will be working in an Item Retrieval area. They will be matching prizes with the winners so that items can be picked up that evening.
During these tough economic times, we try to stick to a budget. Will there be items that I can bid on that won’t break the bank?
Definitely! Prizes will be valued so there will be something for everyone.
Will I have a chance to see the items that will be available before the night of the Auction?
Yes! There will be a link on the school website that will take you to the 1st Annual Auction. This will give you any information you will need about the auction including items that will be up for bid. The website will be up and running by the end of the month!
