Science

Middle school science classes at SMS are based on a comprehensive, inquiry-based curriculum that explores topics in life, physical science, earth science, scientific reasoning, and technology using a hands-on approach through experimentation, reading, and demonstrations. The National Science Education Standards and the Diocese Standards are used as benchmarks throughout the curriculum.

Our microscopes have a new home!! This summer we have transformed the previous faculty room into a science center.  Our new science center will include new science lab tables, new stools, new sinks and a new eye-wash station.

Students: Here is a list of websites (thanks Mrs. Maher) that you could use throughout the school year to help you with projects, tests and homework; and you just might find a lot of fascinating things that are always happening in science.
