Students take weekly
classes in art. In
class, students engage in hands-on activities that make
connections to holidays, religious feasts and other
curriculum-related areas. The class explores the finer aspects of artistic expression,
and students are encouraged to display their own talents. Student work is regularly showcased in the main hallway and
throughout the school.
Local and national art contests are included in the
program. The major techniques
of instruction are demonstration, modeling, small group
instruction and cooperative learning activities.
This
year Mrs. Cotrotsos is focusing on teaching the
children how to broaden their creativity through
using different mediums It will be enjoyable
as well as educational for the children.
