We mourn the recent passing of our beloved principal, Sr. Lorraine Klein fmij.  Click for more information. We also express our condolences to the Raspa family in the recent loss of their brother Michael.

Reminder from the nurse: Hand washing is very important. Please remind your children to wash their hands properly. If your child is out with a fever, he/she must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school. (That means fever free without medication.)

Other Notes:... For the third year in a row, an eighth grader from St. Margaret School  in Woodbury Heights (Conor Murphy) earned the four year full scholarship Bishop Eustace Preparatory School awards to the top scoring student on its annual scholarship exam.  The evidence is clear — our Catholic schools are doing a remarkable job educating the students sitting in classrooms diocesan wide. Each day, each year, we provide a mission driven education that is both academic and spiritual. Our students are prepared to live, work and pray in the dynamic world that exists beyond the classroom. 

Congratulations Class of 2009! Our 62 graduates received over $190,000 in scholarships! God bless you!

Did you know ... Catholic School Students surpass their counterparts by an average of 4.5% in math, 4.8% in science, and 12.5% in reading in the three grade levels of the National Assessment of Educational Progress test of the federal government. The 1994 tests of the NAEP also showed that Catholic School Students in 4th and 8th grades score higher than their peers in reading, history and geography.

All the best to CONOR MURPHY (SMS '09) who received a FULL SCHOLARSHIP to Bishop Eustace Prep! He follows Sam Walters (SMS '07) and EVAN LOUDERBACK (SMS '08) who also accomplished this goal. The graduating class of 2007 was awarded over $120,000 in scholarships.
